THE LATEST HAPPENINGS AROUND THE WORLD

A note from Lindsay Gee, CEO for IVS 3D

2008 was a busy year for IVS 3D with at least 19 conferences worldwide that we participated in through exhibits, hosting workshops and presenting papers. IVS 3D was at the two main international hydrographic conferences in North America and Europe, as well as offshore industry conferences in all regions and two primary US academic geology and geophysics conferences. We see these conferences as a key part of staying in contact with our clients in their various fields of work.

While we would like to meet more of our clients on an individual basis, time and resources prevent us. The various conferences and workshops provide us with the opportunity to directly interact with our clients, learn how they are using our software and answer their questions. As we listen to both the good and bad comments, we take their suggestions and work on continued improvements and innovations. It also allows us to pass on tips and tricks and bring them up to date on the latest features available in the Fledermaus software.  The latter part of 2008 was a good time to show clients the beta version of the Version 7 release and get their direct feedback, and this has helped greatly to shape the final stages of the development.

We all view the uncertainty of the world’s current economic situation with concern, and we at IVS 3D more than ever see how important it is to assist our clients in improving their efficiency in whatever role they use our software. We firmly believe that our clients are the reason for our continued success, and we look forward to a year of further innovations based on their feedback and requests post the Fledermaus Version 7 release.
