IVS 3D Announces Australian Hub to Support Asia-Pacific Region

IVS 3D announced the opening of its second regional office to be directed by Dr. Douglas Bergersen. Located in Sydney, Australia, the new location will serve as a distribution, training and support facility for Fledermaus clients and resellers in the Asia-Pacific region.

Bill McKernan, VP of Sales and Marketing for IVS 3D stated, "Our clients in Asia-Pacific were among some of the earliest adopters of our award-winning Fledermaus suite and we are excited to be able to expand our support to become a 24/7 resource for them. We have been anticipating this step with Dr. Bergersen because he not only understands the capabilities of the entire Fledermaus suite, he also has the experience in the ocean industry that will enable him to anticipate our client's needs and understand their goals. His expertise is exactly what our clients and resellers in the Pacific region are looking for. We look forward to continued growth in this region due to this expansion."

Dr. Bergersen graduated from the University of Hawaii with a MSc. and Ph.D in Marine Geology and Geophysics, and then migrated to Australia where he has worked in the offshore industry since 1995.

Of the new partnership with IVS 3D, he stated, "My mission for the past 10 plus years has been to introduce innovative solutions to the Australasia market. The powerful data visualization, analysis, and processing capabilities offered by Fledermaus perfectly compliment the geophysical skills and knowledge base of marine operations and software the Australia-based staff have obtained from participating and managing offshore surveys for the past 20 years. This blend of practical experience with immersive visualization will be an invaluable resource to clients and resellers of the Fledermaus software suite."

 

IVS 3D at OSEA 2008

IVS 3D, in collaboration with its Singapore-based reseller Sea and Land Technologies, participated in the OSEA 2008 Oil & Gas Industry Exhibition and Conference held between December 2-5, 2008 at Suntec, Singapore. OSEA 2008 is the premier Oil and Gas tradeshow in Asia, and represented an ideal opportunity to meet existing and potential clients throughout the region.

Attending the show was Douglas Bergersen from the IVS 3D Asia-Pacific Regional Distribution Centre in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Bergersen reported, "OSEA 2008 was an important opportunity for IVS 3D to continue its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference provided me with an opportunity to discuss issues with our existing clients (e.g., Marine and Port Authority Singapore, Royal Thailand Navy, Shell Malaysia) and to show the software to potential clients who are facing many of the problems typically associated with modern survey systems -- i.e., large data volumes and stringent data quality requirements by end-users. The optimized workflow and powerful quality control tools offered by the Fledermaus product suite were well-received by groups who requested a demonstration."

A series of seminars coordinated by Sea and Land Technologies in Singapore and Jakarta, are currently being planned to introduce the forthcoming major upgrade of the software (Fledermaus V7.0). Please direct queries about the seminars to sales@ivs3d.com.
